Responsible Gaming
At Starcasino, we care about responsible gaming. Playing should always be fun, and we’re here to help you keep it that way. As of October 1, 2024, all licensed online casinos and bookmakers in the Netherlands are required to apply a net deposit limit.
What is the net deposit limit?
The net deposit limit is the difference between the money you deposit and the money you withdraw each month.
If you’re between 18 and 23 years old, the monthly limit is €300.
If you're 24 or older, the limit is €700 per month.
This limit applies to all players, unless you’ve already set a lower or personalized limit.
Where can I see my limit?
You can always view your limit in your account under ‘Responsible Gaming’ -> Net Deposit limit.
Want to increase it? You’ll need to upload a source of funds on the same page. Our team will review your request to make sure it's responsible to higher your limit.
Why is this limit in place?
The limit is there to help protect you and make sure you’re playing within your means. It’s also a legal requirement for all licensed providers in the Netherlands.
Since October 2021, all licensed online casinos and bookmakers in the Netherlands are required to ask players to set personal limits. These limits are in place to promote responsible gaming and help you stay in control.
What limits do I need to set?

Deposit Limit
Decide how much you can deposit per day, week or month.Session Limit
This defines how long you can play in one go before being logged out automatically.Balance Limit
Set a maximum amount that can be on your account balance.
These limits are mandatory, and you won’t be able to play until you’ve set them.
Can I change my limits?
Yes, you can lower your limits at any time — changes take effect immediately.
If you want to raise a limit, there’s a 7-day cooling-off period before the change becomes active.
Why are these limits important?
They help you keep control of your play and ensure you stay within safe boundaries. It’s a key part of playing responsibly.
Where can I set or change my limits?
You can manage your limits in your account under the ‘Responsible Gaming’ section.
Since October 1, 2024, new legal measures have been implemented to promote responsible gaming and protect players from the risks of excessive gambling. One significant measure is the introduction of mandatory deposit limits. If you wish to increase your deposit limit to or above certain amounts, we are required to have a personal conversation with you.
For players aged 24 and older:
Monthly limit: €350
Weekly limit: €87.50 (if no monthly limit is set)
Daily limit: €12.50 (if no monthly or weekly limit is set)
For players aged 18 to 24:
Monthly limit: €150
Weekly limit: €37.50 (if no monthly limit is set)
Daily limit: €5.35 (if no monthly or weekly limit is set)
If you wish to increase any of these limits to or above the specified amounts, we are legally required to have a personal conversation with you. During this interaction, we discuss the risks associated with gambling and ensure you are aware of the potential consequences of a higher limit. This conversation helps us jointly assess whether an increase is responsible in your situation.
After this conversation, the change will be implemented, with a mandatory cooling-off period of 7 days before the new limit becomes active. This period provides you with additional time to reconsider your decision.

What happens during a playing break?
During your break, you can still log in, but you cannot play or deposit.
This is required by law — you must retain access to your account so you can:

The break starts immediately and remains active for the full duration.

Prefer to permanently close your account? You can do that from your profile:
Go to ‘Settings’

⚠️ Important: Once closed, your account cannot be reopened.
You will also not be able to create a new account at Starcasino.
A balance limit is a mandatory setting you choose when creating your account. It defines the maximum amount of money you're allowed to keep in your player balance.
What happens if your balance goes over the limit?
If you win an amount that causes your balance to exceed your set limit, the extra money is automatically separated and placed in a temporary holding pot.
You can’t use the excess amount to play
The excess is automatically paid out to your bank account
Payouts are processed nightly around 00:00
💡 Important: This is a legal requirement aimed at protecting players and promoting responsible gaming.
You can update your balance limit at any time in your account. However, increasing it will only take effect after a 7-day waiting period, as required by law.
